Do you know that awesome feeling when you discover a new favourite blogger, you spend tens of minutes reading all his/her posts and can’t stop but commenting to all the book reviews and bookish discussions? I’m sure you know what I’m talking about 🙂

In this post I want to share with you the paths I take to find blogs that I enjoy a lot.

§  Search for bloggers with similar reading history

This might sound like a no-brainer, but it is also the most efficient method to find bloggers I like. Usually, after reading a book and posting my review, I use WordPress’ search function to look for other posts about that book or the book’s author. It gets even more interesting when you find a blogger that disliked a book you liked, or vice-versa!

§  Search for bloggers who discussed similar bookish topics

After writing a bookish discussion post I sometimes look to see what other bloggers thought about it, maybe even link some of their discussion posts to my post. This makes it easier to interact with the blogger because there are high chances that you have a certain opinion on that topic and you can contribute with a meaningful comment.

§  Check the “favourite bloggers” posts

This is an absolute treasure! When one of the bloggers I follow writes a list of his/her favourite bloggers, I check all of them and see whether I would like to follow one of them. Most of the times I find at least one blog that I enthusiastically read from cover to cover. Here are 5 of my favourite bloggers (the post was written in May 2018 but it still applies!).

§ Check the bloggers nominated for bookish tags

No matter whether you enjoy doing tags or not, the list of nominated bloggers to do the tag can be a good source of blogs to check out!

§ “Stalk” the comments section

Last but not least, the comments section can be a great place to find bloggers you want to follow! It’s lovely to see bloggers who contribute with meaningful comments to a discussion or share their thoughts about a book.

To conclude, here are 2 of my latest great finds: Thinking and Inking and The Book Satchel. Make sure you check out their blogs! ❤

How do you discover bloggers you want to follow? What’s your “secret recipe”?

‘Till next time … happy blogging!

  1. I’m really struggling with this right now. I want to become more engaged in the community but even when I find a post I really enjoy it usually turns out the majority of their posts are different topics that I’m not interested in. Thanks for the advice!!

    1. I can totally related to what you’re saying! For example, it can happen to follow bloggers who write reviews for a genre you’re not into, but enjoy a lot their discussion posts. Or the other way around. In this case I think it’s important to just read what you like from that blog, and be engaged in those areas of the community where you feel comfortable in.

Good luck with finding your fellow bloggers, I’m sure you will succeed even though sometimes it might seem like you’re looking for a needle in a haystack 🙂
